Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is “super well” following a head injury at home over the weekend that resulted in a minor brain hemorrhage, according to Institutional Relations Minister Alexandre Padilha.
Lula posted a photo on social media Monday, smiling alongside Padilha and top foreign policy adviser Celso Amorim, as they discussed both national and international matters.
Although no specific health details were shared in the post, the president had to cancel his planned trip to Russia for a BRICS summit in Kazan, as doctors advised against long-haul flights during his recovery.
Foreign Relations Minister Mauro Vieira is representing Brazil at the summit, which brings together emerging economies like Brazil, Russia, India, China, and now includes new members such as South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE.
