Israel strikes Gaza, mass casualties reported

Intense Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Saturday killed at least 96 Palestinians. Among the dead were 27 aid seekers. Medical sources confirmed the rising death toll. The violence highlights the continuing humanitarian catastrophe.

The attacks targeted multiple locations. An airstrike in western Gaza City claimed a mother and her three children. Further strikes in Al-Tuffah and Sheikh Radwan neighborhoods killed several women and family members. Residential apartments and homes were reduced to rubble.

Separate drone strikes also targeted civilian gatherings. Medics reported eight Palestinians, including children, were killed at the Shati refugee camp. Deadly raids also struck Jabalia Al-Nazla in the north.

In the central Gaza Strip, a child perished in a bombing near the Nuseirat refugee camp. A drone strike on a displaced families’ tent in Deir al-Balah killed seven. Three Palestinians died near Al-Aqsa Hospital.

The violence extended to Khan Younis in the south. Eleven Palestinians, including children, died when warplanes struck tents near the Kuwaiti Hospital. Rescue teams also recovered bodies in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood.

A particularly lethal incident occurred in Rafah. Israeli forces opened fire on civilians seeking aid. At least 27 Palestinians were killed, and 180 injured. Eyewitnesses described troops firing directly into the crowd at the Al-Shakoush distribution point.

The escalating death toll mounts amid ongoing Israeli military operations. The conflict, ongoing since October 2023, has claimed over 57,800 Palestinian lives. Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
