Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz warned on Sunday that the country would respond with full force to any Iranian attack, saying Israeli forces would strike missile launch sites without being constrained by other considerations.
“If Iran attacks us, we will target its missile launchers and respond without linking our actions to any other factor and without conditions,” Katz said, according to Hebrew-language media.
His remarks come as Israel’s security establishment reviews possible responses to future retaliatory threats from Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah, with drones reportedly considered among the most significant risks.
Israeli broadcaster i24NEWS reported that discussions within the security cabinet reflect a shift in the defence establishment’s assessment of the threats Israel could face if the confrontation with Iran escalates.
The deliberations are taking place amid growing regional tensions and concerns that Iran or allied armed groups could launch further missile or drone attacks against Israeli targets.
