One man was killed and another wounded in a suspected attack in northern Israel on Sunday when an assailant drove into a bus stop, stabbed a bystander, and fired at passing motorists, emergency services said.
A man in his 70s was fatally shot, while a second victim was taken to the hospital with injuries, according to Israel’s ambulance service.
The attacker, whose identity was not immediately confirmed, was shot dead by police at the scene.
Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that after ramming his car into the bus stop, the assailant used an automatic weapon to target passing vehicles. Authorities are investigating the incident.
