South Africa boosts genocide claims against Israel with fresh proof

South Africa filed new evidence with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Monday.

This supports claims that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

President Cyril Ramaphosa accused Israel of violating the genocide convention.

He stated that Israel destroys Palestinians through violent means and restricts humanitarian aid.

The filing includes over 750 pages of evidence, supported by more than 4,000 pages of documents.

Much may remain confidential.

This legal action coincides with Israel’s intensified attacks on civilians in Gaza.

Ramaphosa noted that Israel appears ready to extend violence into Lebanon.

Israel must respond by July 28, 2025.

The genocide case was first filed in late 2023, with several countries joining the case.

In May, the ICJ ordered Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah, Gaza.

Ramaphosa urged the global community to intervene in the humanitarian crisis, highlighting a clear intent to commit genocide against Palestinians.
