US President Donald Trump has said Iran is facing a “serious predicament,” citing its military setbacks, the collapse of its currency and what he described as US control over the Strait of Hormuz.
“We must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and we have done that,” Trump said in an interview with British broadcaster GB News.
“We defeated its naval and air forces and its command structure, and the Strait of Hormuz is now under our control,” he added. “Their money has lost its value, and they are in a very difficult position.”
Trump also claimed that Iran’s three known nuclear facilities had been “completely destroyed,” but suggested Tehran might now be operating another installation known as “Pickaxe Mountain.”
“We have cameras covering every major area at the three original sites, and we are also monitoring Pickaxe Mountain,” Trump said. “We know the identity of everyone who enters and leaves.”
