Trump warns Iran: Kharg Island, oil wells may be destroyed

US President Donald Trump threatened Monday to destroy Iran’s Kharg Island, oil wells, power plants, and other infrastructure if no deal ends the war.

A day after suggesting progress could come soon, Trump said the United States is in “serious discussions” with a more reasonable regime in Tehran.

He added an ominous warning, threatening total destruction of Iranian energy facilities and possibly all desalinization plants if the Hormuz Strait remains closed.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reiterated that Trump expects the US war against Iran to conclude within two weeks of current operations.

Leavitt said Trump has previously estimated a four to six-week timeline, noting the campaign is now on day 30 and nearing completion.

She added the president wants a deal in the next 10 days while insisting US forces would always act within the law.

Leavitt also warned Iran of US military capabilities “beyond their wildest imagination” and emphasised Trump is not hesitant to use them.

On Sunday, Trump said the US had achieved regime change in Iran, citing the number of Iranian leaders killed since the war began.

He described the new leadership as “much more reasonable” and claimed negotiations could produce an agreement soon, possibly this week.

Trump also expressed interest in having Gulf allies such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE help cover war costs, though details remain unclear.
