UAE condemns Iran’s renewed strikes across Gulf and wider region

The United Arab Emirates on Sunday strongly condemned renewed Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman.

In a statement carried by the state-run WAM news agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as acts of aggression and a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the five Arab states.

The ministry said the strikes posed a serious threat to regional security and stability amid a rapidly escalating confrontation between Iran and the United States across the Gulf.

The UAE reaffirmed its full solidarity with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman, pledging support for all measures taken by the countries to protect their security, sovereignty and stability.

The condemnation came as regional governments strengthened their air defences in response to waves of missiles and drones launched from Iran against targets across the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
