UAE president visits Cairo to strengthen ties with Egypt

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a fraternal visit to Egypt, where he was welcomed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The Emirates News Agency WAM reported that the two leaders exchanged Ramadan greetings and engaged in discussions reflecting their nations’ close relationship.

The Egyptian presidency emphasized that the visit underscores the strong personal and diplomatic ties between el-Sisi and bin Zayed.

El-Sisi hosted an iftar banquet in honor of the UAE president, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation.

Discussions focused on economic collaboration and regional stability, with both leaders emphasizing shared aspirations for their peoples.

Bin Zayed expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the UAE’s dedication to strengthening bilateral relations.

His visit follows el-Sisi’s trip to the UAE in January, where talks centered on conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Sudan.

Egypt and the UAE have cultivated a robust partnership, particularly in investment and energy sectors.

The UAE remains one of Egypt’s top investors, recently committing $35 billion to the Ras al-Hekma development project.

As both nations continue to expand their economic and political ties, the visit further solidifies their strategic alliance in an increasingly complex regional landscape.
