Uganda calls on international partners to lift Ebola travel bans

Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo has urged foreign nations to immediately dismantle travel restrictions imposed on her country’s citizens.

Speaking this Tuesday, Alupo assured international stakeholders that Uganda has successfully brought the recent Ebola outbreak under absolute control.

The Vice President delivered her remarks during a critical, high-level summit gathering African political leaders and major global donors.

She emphasized that despite managing several historical epidemics, Uganda holds a flawless record of never exporting a virus abroad.

Alupo forcefully guaranteed that health authorities would maintain this strict containment standard throughout the duration of the current crisis.

The state has labeled the ongoing international border blocks as improper, economically damaging, and scientifically unjustified at this stage.

Uganda’s comprehensive medical response has effectively neutralized active transmission chains within the major high-risk zones across the country.

The plea comes as international travel blocks continue to heavily restrict the movement of Ugandan nationals across global borders.

Local authorities maintain that domestic surveillance systems are strong enough to prevent any potential cross-border transmission of the disease.

The government hopes this firm declaration will restore international confidence and revive vital regional commerce and tourism sectors soon.
