Mbappe makes long-awaited switch to Real Madrid

French superstar Kylian Mbappe has finally sealed his dream move to Real Madrid, signing a five-year deal with the Spanish giants.

The announcement comes after months of speculation and a verbal agreement reached in February.

This signing is a major coup for Real Madrid, fresh off their record-extending 15th Champions League title win.

Mbappe,25, joins them after a prolific spell at Paris Saint-Germain, where he smashed the club’s goalscoring record with 256 goals.

The move comes ahead of Mbappe’s participation in France’s pre-Euro 2024 friendlies.

He’ll be looking to add to his impressive trophy cabinet, which already includes a World Cup win (2018) and a Ligue 1 title haul with PSG.

Despite PSG’s hefty investment in Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi, the Champions League trophy remained elusive.

Mbappe even netted a hat-trick in the 2022 final against Argentina, only to finish runner-up.

Mbappe’s departure marks the end of an era for PSG’s ambitious project, which aimed to dominate European football.

However, his star continues to rise, not just on the pitch but also as a national icon.

President Macron himself previously intervened to try and keep him at PSG, highlighting his immense importance to France.

Now, with a new chapter at Real Madrid, Mbappe will be looking to add more Champions League glory to his incredible list of achievements.
