Al‑Mirghani: New peace government represents all Sudanese

Ibrahim Al‑Mirghani, a member of the Leadership Council of the Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS), said the latest appointments to the Transitional Peace Government strictly follow the Constitution and Nairobi Charter, ensuring that all segments of Sudanese society are represented and harnessing the political expertise of its members.

Speaking to Erem News, Al‑Mirghani argued that rolling out the new government just days before the Quartet meeting in Washington highlights how those advocating for continued conflict have rejected every peace initiative and withdrawn from all legitimate platforms while still claiming authority.

On the government’s expected participation in the end‑July Quartet summit, he described the gathering as a critical milestone that will be followed by concrete steps toward resolving Sudan’s crisis, with the full picture to emerge once the summit’s final communique is issued.

Regarding international reactions to the government’s formation, Al‑Mirghani noted that each country’s stance will be shaped by its own interests and bilateral relationships, stressing that Sudan aims to cultivate positive ties with all nations, particularly its neighbours and regional partners.
