Atbara groups welcome quartet pledge to end Sudan war

The Atbara Resistance Committees have embraced the final declaration of the International Quartet, calling it a true reflection of Sudanese hopes. In their statement, the committees described the document as fully aligned with aspirations to end the war and halt the nation’s suffering.

They appealed to civil forces, local administrations, Sufi orders, and all stakeholders to speak boldly and collectively in favour of peace. Particular praise was directed toward the Qadiriyya (Bakdbas) Sajjada, whose initiative for peace and coexistence was hailed as a guiding light.

The committees urged communities to rally behind the banner of peace, presenting it as both shield and compass for Sudan’s fractured heart. They said such unity could restore reassurance to the population and reopen the path home for millions displaced or forced into flight.

For Atbara’s activists, peace is not an abstract dream but an urgent necessity, the only antidote to bloodshed and despair. Their call echoes through a country scarred by conflict, offering a reminder that even amid ruins, voices for peace will not fall silent.
