Australian charity brings food relief to displaced families in Sudan

Under a pale winter sun, an Australian charity delivered food baskets to 200 displaced families at Al-Afad camp in Sudan’s Al-Dabba locality.

The Doctors for Humanitarian Aid organisation distributed lentils, onions, oil, sugar and flour to families uprooted from Darfur by conflict.

The operation formed part of continuing efforts to ease hunger and restore dignity among displaced communities living in fragile, crowded conditions.

Rami Abdel Rahim, deputy head of Al-Dabba’s Emergency and Crisis Committee, attended the distribution and praised the charity’s sustained humanitarian commitment.

He said the organisation’s work helps lighten daily burdens and confirms its responsibility toward civilians affected by war and prolonged crises.

Earlier, the charity sent a major convoy to Azhari Al-Mubarak camp, delivering food baskets to 180 families across the Northern State.

The initiative also provided month-long medicine supplies to 40 pregnant women, offering a lifeline where healthcare remains scarce and uncertain.
