Sudan’s political landscape remains deeply troubled as General al-Burhan, leader of the Islamic Movement’s coup forces, and his allies in the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) make desperate attempts to shift the narrative surrounding the ongoing conflict, RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo said in a post on X on Friday.
RSF leader revealed that Burhan and his supporters seek to obscure their role in igniting the war on April 15 “with the aim of turning back the clock and restoring the corrupt state of favoritism and empowerment.”
Dagalo added that during the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit, Burhan attempted to claim legitimacy by delivering “a hollow speech filled with lies and baseless claims, which he repeatedly makes, oblivious to the fact that everyone is fully aware of the true situation in Sudan.”
RSF leader accused al-Burhan of killing and terrorizing innocent civilians, destroying infrastructure, and prolonging the war to achieve the old regime’s agenda and interests.
Since gaining independence, Sudan’s people have long been denied the peace they deserve, largely due to state-sponsored violence, Dagalo said.
Dagalo pointed out that many Sudanese are now urging the international and regional community to join forces with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese people in their push for democracy.
RSF leader underlined that he believed with coordinated efforts, Sudan can finally break free from the cycle of violence and wars and move towards establishing a stable and democratic future.
