Burhan vows to continue war despite sanctions

Sudanese Armed Forces chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, said Friday that military operations will continue until all rebel forces are defeated.

Speaking at the Old Mosque in Al-Manaqil, Burhan said the war will not end until Sudan is protected from internal and external threats.

He warned that Sudan could soon face new international sanctions but said the Sudanese people would withstand outside pressure.

Burhan praised resistance efforts in Al-Jazirah State, saying operations against the Rapid Support Forces began in Al-Manaqil.

He also pledged to restore infrastructure and expand healthcare services to support people displaced by fighting in Wad Madani.

Separately, Sufi leaders met with Burhan to reaffirm their support for the armed forces and promote national reconciliation.
