Calls grow for probe into attacks on Sudan trade route vehicles

Calls have grown for an urgent investigation after reported attacks on commercial transport vehicles along Sudan’s North Arterial Road raised security concerns.

Drivers said several vehicles were stopped, while occupants were allegedly mistreated, threatened by gunfire and robbed of money and personal belongings.

Those demanding action urged authorities to identify those responsible through an independent investigation, warning the incident threatens a key trade route linking states.

They called for accountability and stronger security measures to protect road users, safeguard commercial traffic and uphold the rule of law.
