Civilians killed in Blue Nile strike

Dozens of civilians were killed following an air strike in Sudan’s Blue Nile state, according to a statement by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North.

The group said an aerial attack carried out by the SAF targeted several areas in the state, resulting in the deaths of 93 civilians and injuring 32 others. Most of the victims were reported to be women and children.

According to the statement, the strike was conducted using a drone and hit civilians as they were returning from Yabous market and nearby mining fields to their homes in surrounding villages.

The movement added that the incident has created a dire humanitarian situation in the area, warning that the death toll could rise as military operations continue.
