A crocodile attacked and killed a farmer on Sudan’s Sai Island, according to local authorities.
The administrative unit of Abri said the attack occurred while the victim was on the western bank of Sisab.
Following the incident, authorities urged residents to stay away from the riverbanks to reduce the risk of further attacks.
Officials also asked the public to report any crocodile sightings so specialist fishermen can respond.
The warning comes as many island residents rely on the Nile’s waters for farming and other daily activities.
