Darfur governor Minawi holds Juba talks on Sudan conflict

Darfur Governor Minni Arko Minawi arrived in Juba on Monday for high-level talks on Sudan’s ongoing conflict.

He said lasting peace requires an inclusive national dialogue held inside Sudan and free from foreign interference.

The visit seeks to present the Democratic Bloc’s peace framework and urge regional actors to respect Sudan’s sovereignty.

Minawi said the plan prioritizes national consensus, social reconstruction and equal citizenship to address the conflict’s root causes.

The humanitarian situation of displaced Sudanese refugees in South Sudan also remains a key focus of the talks.

The two countries aim to strengthen their historic ties while jointly addressing the war’s severe regional consequences.
