Sudan’s federal health ministry has announced a rise in dengue fever and malaria infections in Khartoum, Al Jazira, River Nile, and White Nile states, warning that the public health situation requires close monitoring and intensified preventive measures.
In a health report, the ministry said cases of viral hepatitis continue to be recorded in Al Jazira state, particularly in Um Al Qura locality. It also confirmed the detection of measles cases in White Nile and South Darfur states, adding that no related deaths have been reported so far.
The ministry further stated that cholera deaths remain at zero during the second week of the current year in affected areas of North Kordofan and the Tawila camp in North Darfur. It said health surveillance and field efforts are ongoing to contain the spread of diseases.
The ministry stressed the need to strengthen monitoring systems and community health interventions amid the rise in seasonal and vector borne illnesses, according to media.
