Egypt and UAE foreign ministers discuss Sudan war in Abu Dhabi

Sudan’s escalating conflict dominated talks between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates during high-level meetings in Abu Dhabi.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty met his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum on Saturday.

The two ministers underscored the need for close coordination within the Quartet to help end the war in Sudan and revive a civilian-led political process.

According to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, the talks reaffirmed a commitment to strengthening strategic ties between Cairo and Abu Dhabi across multiple sectors.

Officials highlighted the countries’ historic relations and shared interests amid growing security and humanitarian challenges.

Both sides agreed to maintain close consultation and coordination to enhance regional security and joint Arab action.
