The Joint Force of armed movements aligned with General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) said on Monday its spokesperson, Col. Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, was killed in fighting in El Fasher. The officer, known as “Adroob,” was praised by the group as a disciplined and forthright field commander in a statement carried by Darfur24.
His death comes a day after the Rapid Support Forces said they seized the SAF’s Sixth Infantry Division headquarters in El Fasher following heavy clashes with the Burhan’s forces and allied Islamist groups, capping a siege of more than 18 months.
