
Doctors Without Borders warned of a worsening measles outbreak in Sudan’s Darfur region, driven by delayed vaccination campaigns and ongoing conflict.
The organisation said more than 1,300 cases have been recorded since September 2025 at health facilities it supports.
MSF blamed delays in vaccine deliveries and postponed immunisation drives for leaving children dangerously unprotected.
Sudan’s health system has been devastated by war between General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023.
The conflict has killed tens of thousands and displaced about 13 million people nationwide.
MSF urged Sudanese authorities to remove bureaucratic barriers blocking vaccine transport across Darfur.
It also called on UNICEF to urgently scale up vaccine and medical supply deliveries.
