New RSF movements in South Kordofan and west of El Obeid

Media reports indicate that Rapid Support Forces units have carried out a new redeployment along the Dibeibat axis in South Kordofan, reinforcing their positions with additional fighters, vehicles and logistical support.

According to media sources, around 200 fully armed combat vehicles reached the Al Khuwai axis at dawn, having moved from the city of Al Nahud. The area lies roughly 100 kilometres west of El Obeid and is considered a key corridor linking parts of Kordofan.

These movements come amid ongoing military escalation driven largely by SAF air strikes and drone attacks, which have repeatedly targeted infrastructure and civilian areas across Kordofan and Darfur. Observers say the RSF redeployment reflects an effort to protect supply lines and stabilise frontlines in the face of continued SAF pressure, as well as the absence of any credible political initiative from the Port Sudan authorities.

The renewed positioning is expected to have significant implications for the balance of forces on the ground, particularly as SAF struggles to translate its aerial campaign into meaningful territorial control.
