The Sudanese army has displayed advanced Pakistani-made armoured vehicles on the streets of Khartoum for the first time, according to videos circulated by pro-army social media platforms.
The footage appeared to show the Muhafiz-V, an armoured personnel carrier manufactured by Pakistan’s HIT Armour defence company.
The vehicle is built on a Toyota Land Cruiser LC79 chassis and is fitted with a reinforced suspension system designed to handle heavy loads and operate across difficult terrain. It can carry up to eight people, including the driver and commander.
The standard version reportedly provides B6-level ballistic protection, designed to withstand direct fire from assault rifles, including AK-47 and G3 weapons.
The armoured vehicle is equipped with eight firing ports fitted with bullet-resistant glass, allowing personnel inside to engage targets while remaining protected.
It also features a rotating rooftop gunner position offering 360-degree visibility and firing coverage.
The Muhafiz-V is fitted with run-flat tyres, enabling it to continue travelling after sustaining damage or losing tyre pressure. The vehicle can reportedly cover up to 50 kilometres after its tyres have been punctured.
The appearance of the vehicles in Khartoum comes as the Sudanese army continues to reinforce its military presence in the capital amid the country’s ongoing conflict.
