Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the targeting of World Food Programme (WFP) trucks near Mellit, North Darfur, calling for the protection of aid workers and safe, sustained humanitarian access.
WFP said a drone strike hit a 16-truck convoy on Aug 20, destroying three trucks that caught fire; all drivers and staff were safe.
The RSF and local activists blamed SAF drones for the strike; the SAF denied the allegation.
Humanitarian agencies say access remains perilous due to blockades, insecurity and repeated SAF strikes on convoys, compounding famine risks in parts of Darfur.
