
The Rapid Support Forces captured Bir Saliba in West Darfur on Tuesday after intense fighting with Sudanese Armed Forces-aligned joint forces.
Dark smoke rose over the area as RSF troops advanced into the border town, which had long been held by rival forces near the mountainous frontier with Chad.
