The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have accused bodies aligned with what they describe as the “Port Sudan gang” and elements of the former regime’s security and intelligence apparatus of orchestrating a media campaign to fabricate human rights violations at the Al-Afad camp in Ad-Dabbah, Northern State.
In a statement, the RSF said it has been monitoring “suspicious movements and intensive preparations” linked to these groups since what it called the recruitment of “innocent citizens from various states” to the Al-Afad camp for political purposes. According to the statement, the aim is to engineer “a new conspiracy” reminiscent of what the RSF describes as previous “fabricated reports” on mass rape, allegedly used as “cheap political tools” to falsely implicate RSF fighters.
The group specifically targeted the “Sudan Doctors Network,” describing it as “a front for well-known security circles.” The RSF accused the network of reviving what it called “a pathetic story” claiming that its medical team inside the camp had documented the rape of women during their displacement from El Fasher to Northern State, and of issuing “baseless accusations” against individuals it says are affiliated with the RSF.
The statement said the network was once again attempting to rally international sympathy “through confused statements fabricated by its terrorist apparatus.”
The RSF urged human rights organizations, international bodies and media outlets to verify claims thoroughly and to “rely on credible sources,” stressing that many of the allegations circulating publicly are, in its view, “propaganda campaigns crafted for purely political purposes.”
The group also warned that it “will not allow the passage of malicious agendas” that, it says, hide behind allegations of violations and exploit the suffering of Sudanese civilians to advance the interests of factions it accuses of undermining the country’s sovereignty.
The statement concluded with a tribute to what the RSF called its “righteous martyrs,” and was signed by the Official Spokesperson for the Rapid Support Forces.
