The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) delegation, led by Brigadier General Omar Hamdan, has criticized Al Burhan’s army (SAF) for not participating in the Geneva negotiations aimed at resolving the crisis in Sudan.
The RSF accused Al Burhan’s army of deliberately prolonging and escalating the conflict to serve the interests of terrorist groups linked to the former regime.
During the talks, the RSF delegation engaged with the mediation team to discuss crucial issues, including the facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery, the enhancement of civilian protection, and strategies for achieving a cessation of hostilities.
The RSF reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with all proposals aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The delegation underscored the importance of easing the entry of humanitarian aid through the Daba and Adre crossings to ensure it reaches those in need.
The group also expressed deep appreciation for the mediation team’s efforts to secure stability in Sudan.
However, the RSF criticized the opposing party for disregarding the mediation’s invitation to participate in the negotiations, signaling a lack of commitment to ending the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The Forces suggested the refusal was a deliberate attempt to prolong and escalate the conflict, serving the interests of terrorist groups linked to the former regime that controls Al Burhan’s army and its leadership.
The RSF delegation further warned that the opposing party is likely to continue targeting civilian infrastructure, citing recent attacks on Al-Da’ein Hospital and the market in eastern Darfur, as well as strikes in the North Darfur city of Tiwaisha and the city of Al-Hasahissa in Gezira State.
These attacks resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians, including women and children, with many more injured.
The RSF called on the mediation team and the international community to unequivocally condemn these criminal actions, which they stated constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the Jeddah Declaration — a declaration the opposing party falsely claims to uphold.
