RSF accuses Islamists of ‘racist plot’ to displace Sudanese

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have accused Sudan’s Islamic Movement and General al-Burhan’s forces (SAF) of orchestrating a “dangerous racist plot” aimed at forcibly displacing citizens from marginalized areas to reshape the country’s demographics.

In a statement on its website Wednesday, the RSF alleged that Khartoum’s junta authorities are demolishing homes in the Al-Khairat area of East Nile locality under the guise of clearing “informal housing,” but are in fact conducting discriminatory demolitions.

The RSF said the residential plots are being seized and handed over to loyalists of the ruling SAF junta, describing it as a “blatant violation of justice” and misuse of state power.

The RSF claimed the so-called Land Protection Authority has imposed security measures on the confiscated land, framing it as a long-term plan of forced displacement based on ethnic and regional identities.

According to the statement, the campaign has also spread to Al-Izba neighborhood in Khartoum North (Bahri), and the RSF cited previous incidents in Al-Gezira State — including arson attacks and killings — as evidence of a pattern of racially motivated violence.

“These campaigns are part of exclusionary policies that date back to the Islamic Movement’s 1989 coup,” the RSF said, warning that they risk plunging Sudan into a full-scale civil war.

The RSF reaffirmed its rejection of such policies and called for equal citizenship for all Sudanese, warning that continued racial targeting could lead to open-ended conflict.
