RSF arrest four suspects over killing of South Sudanese refugee in Darfur

Security sources in East Darfur say the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have arrested four men suspected of involvement in the killing of a South Sudanese refugee in Abu Matariq, the capital of Bahr al-Arab locality.

According to the sources, the arrests were made in coordination with the local security committee and the native administration following the death of refugee Long Kuol last Thursday. The suspects are currently in custody awaiting investigation and trial.

Authorities confirmed that the suspects will be questioned and formally charged once criminal proceedings are complete, stressing that the case will be handled through a fair judicial process.

Leaders of the refugee community welcomed the arrests, saying the move has been positively received among camp residents and expressing confidence that justice will be served in the case.
