The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has said that they fully support all international initiatives seeking to end Sudan’s devastating war.
RSF expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and the leaders of the Quartet countries in a statement for what they described as persistent diplomatic efforts to halt the conflict.
The RSF said they appreciate the growing international engagement and view the mediation attempts as essential steps toward relieving the suffering of Sudanese civilians.
They accused figures from the former ruling regime and leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood of obstructing peace by influencing the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army decisions and pushing the country deeper into conflict.
They reiterated their commitment to the Sudanese people and vowed not to retreat from demands to dismantle networks of corruption and political influence within the state.
They said Sudan’s future depends on confronting the roots of the crisis and establishing a unified, professional national army free from ideological agendas.
The statement comes as the Quartet mediators — Egypt, the UAE, the United States and Saudi Arabia — struggle to secure breakthroughs in a war that has raged since April 2023 between Burhan’s army and the RSF.
Burhan’s army continues to reject any humanitarian truce without the fulfilment of strict preconditions, including the withdrawal of RSF from residential areas and strategic facilities.
Burhan has warned it will push ahead with military operations to force the RSF out of these areas if its conditions are not met.
