RSF chief Dagalo blames Muslim Brotherhood for prolonging conflict

Rapid Support Forces commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo accused the Muslim Brotherhood of sparking Sudan’s war and working with Iran to threaten regional security.

Speaking on Eid al-Fitr, Hemedti blamed the Muslim Brotherhood and its military wing for prolonging the conflict, which has caused mass displacement and destruction.

He welcomed the US designation of the Sudanese Islamic Movement and Al-Baraa bin Malik Brigades as terrorist groups, saying it cuts off their political and economic networks.

Hemedti claimed the Muslim Brotherhood’s ties with Iran undermine Sudan and neighbouring states, warning against further Gulf-region escalation.

Describing his forces’ mission as an “existential battle,” he outlined a vision to end wars, establish a democratic civilian state, and ensure the safe return of displaced citizens.

He praised the Sudanese Founding Alliance, Tasis, for their courage and expressed solidarity with the Gulf states facing security threats.

His speech comes amid ongoing fighting between the Rapid Support Forces and General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army in Darfur and Kordofan, with little progress toward a ceasefire.
