RSF condemns Muslim Brotherhood drone strike on WFP convoy

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemned a targeted attack on a World Food Programme convoy in North Kordofan State on Saturday. RSF said a drone struck aid trucks in the Jabra Sheikh area, part of a 39-truck convoy delivering critical food supplies.

The convoy carried urgent assistance for displaced families suffering severe food insecurity amid a worsening humanitarian crisis, the RSF statement said. RSF described the attack as a deliberate war crime and a continuation of the Islamist movement’s systematic targeting of humanitarian operations in Sudan. The group accused the “terrorist Muslim Brotherhood army” of previous attacks on convoys in Kutum, Zalingei, Al-Kuma, and Mellit, blocking aid deliveries.

“These repeated assaults reflect a dangerous pattern of obstructing essential aid and intensify civilian suffering,” the RSF spokesperson said in a statement.

The RSF called on the international community to issue strong condemnation and demand immediate investigations into attacks on humanitarian convoys. The statement warned that global silence risks being seen as complicity, emboldening perpetrators and threatening humanitarian efforts across the region.

The RSF concluded with a tribute to those killed in the attacks, honouring them as martyrs in their ongoing struggle, the statement added. International organisations have yet to comment on the latest assault, which comes amid escalating tensions and repeated violations of humanitarian truces.
