Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday strongly denounced the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan for their recent airstrikes targeting civilian areas in North Darfur, Omdurman, and Kandahar.
The RSF described the bombings as “barbaric,” resulting in numerous civilian casualties, including women and children, and significant destruction to homes and businesses.
The RSF criticized the SAF’s actions as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, accusing them of engaging in “criminal acts” that reflect a dangerous escalation in their campaign against innocent civilians.
RSF condemned the ongoing attacks as evidence of the “terrorist Islamic Movement gang” led by General al-Burhan, asserting that the violence marks a turning point in hostilities.
The RSF vowed to continue their fight against what they term as coup plotters and their allies, pledging to persist until Sudan is liberated from the control of what they describe as a criminal gang.
The group emphasized their commitment to achieving a democratic Sudan that fulfills the aspirations of its people, centered on the principles of freedom, peace, and justice.
General al-Burhan’s SAF has stepped up its attacks on civilian infrastructure since the start of Geneva Peace Talks last week.
Despite international pleas, SAF has thus far refused to participate in the negotiations, which entered their fourth day on Saturday
Experts warn that the situation is rapidly deteriorating, with famine declared in one Darfur camp and millions facing acute hunger.
