The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have clarified the origin of videos circulating on social media, showing decomposing human bodies in Khartoum.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the RSF said that the videos depicted human remains preserved in a morgue at a medical college.
The remains, according to the RSF, were part of routine educational practices but had decomposed due to the suspension of maintenance at the morgue during the ongoing war.
The RSF condemned the use of these images in a political smear campaign, labeling it a “theatrical act” aimed at discrediting their forces. They emphasized that the situation had been documented by judicial authorities years ago, revealing that some unidentified cadavers had been transferred for academic purposes without proper coordination with relevant authorities.
The RSF accused the Islamic Movement and its affiliates of using the incident to manipulate public opinion and evade accountability for their own war crimes.
RSF also urged media outlets to maintain professionalism and avoid spreading false propaganda, reaffirming their commitment to defending freedom and justice.
