RSF denies Omdurman atrocity, blames Burhan’s brigades

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have expressed deep regret over a disturbing video circulating on social media, showing bodies stacked in a degrading manner, which they say contradicts the principles and values they uphold.

The RSF categorically denied any affiliation with the individuals shown in the video, stating that such actions are not in line with their operations or ideology.

The video in question, which emerged from Omdurman’s Mohandessin area, is said to depict a scene of human rights violations.

The RSF clarified that the location of these events lies within an area of operational overlap between their forces and those of Burhan’s militias and battalions, groups with a documented history of human rights abuses, including the killing of civilians and the extrajudicial execution of prisoners.

The RSF emphasized their unwavering commitment to international humanitarian law and human rights, condemning any practices that violate human dignity or the ethical standards of warfare. They called on international bodies, media organizations, and individuals to carefully verify the facts and conduct impartial, independent investigations before assigning blame.

In the face of Sudan’s ongoing crisis, the RSF reiterated its dedication to upholding humanitarian values, defending human rights, and working towards a Sudan based on justice, peace, and freedom.
