The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) executed a drone attack on Wednesday, targeting the area between Jabrat Al Sheik and Bara city where General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army (SAF) is located.
It struck the strategic Kordofan region, a vital gateway to both Khartoum and Darfur states. In response, the Burhan’s army withdrew from the contested zone amid mounting pressure.
Following the retreat, the Rapid Support Forces imposed control over the Umm Samima area, consolidating their foothold in North Kordofan.
Kordofan is a pivotal region to controlling broader conflict dynamics in Sudan. The RSF’s use of drones shows new tactics in the fighting against the Burhan’s army, reflecting a new intensity in their campaign.
As clashes continue, the control of Kordofan remains critical for shaping the future balance of power in Sudan’s conflict.
