RSF leader Dagalo meets with Sultan of Darfur Ali Dinar in Kenya

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo met with Sultan of Darfur Ahmed Ayoub Ali Dinar in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Thursday.

In their discussion, both leaders emphasized the significance of Sudanese leaders and societal symbols in upholding the unity and coherence of the country’s populace.

Both leaders pledged to coordinate efforts to alleviate the suffering of people in all regions of Sudan in order to achieve sustainable peace and security.

“We appreciate the honorable positions of Sultan Ahmed Ayyub Ali Dinar and all the national leaders of the native administration who stood neutral, rejected the war, and devoted themselves to supporting and supporting their communities during this period,” said RSF leader Dagalo in a post on X.

As of November, over 12,000 lives have been lost, according to conservative estimates. The war has internally displaced over 7 million people and forced another 1.5 million to flee to neighboring countries.

Sultan of the Fur Tribe

Sultan of Darfur Ahmed Ayoub Ali Dinar is the great grandson of the famous Sultan Ali Dinar and is the current monarch of Darfur in modern day Sudan.

He was selected to the throne in 2015 and is sometimes referred to as the Sultan of the Fur Tribe.

The Darfur sultanate was established in 1603 and ceased to exist in 1916 when the British dismantled it, integrating the region into the Sudanese colony.
