RSF near full control of El-Fasher as SAF, Joint Force surrenders

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) units advanced deep into El-Fasher on Monday, taking control of new positions as fighters from the Joint Force surrendered amid heavy clashes, according to field sources and footage from the frontlines.

Video circulating on social media shows RSF fighters around the headquarters of General al-Burhan’s SAF’s 6th Infantry Division, signaling that the Sudanese group is close to seizing the last remaining strongholds of the SAF and allied Joint Force units in the city.

An RSF field commander told Assayha that additional RSF reinforcements and multiple divisions had arrived in El-Fasher in recent hours to join the final phase of what the group calls the “liberation” of the 6th Infantry Division after nearly two years of fierce fighting.

El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, has been the scene of some of the war’s heaviest battles, with its fall likely to mark a decisive shift in the conflict.
