The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday denied accusations that they carried out an air attack on the United Nations headquarters in Kadugli.
In a statement, the RSF dismissed claims circulated by authorities in Port Sudan that the strike was carried out using a drone, describing the allegations as fabricated and politically motivated.
The group said the accusations were an attempt to shift blame amid Sudan’s deepening conflict, stressing that its forces have never targeted international organisations or humanitarian missions.
“On the contrary, our forces have a well-documented record of protecting UN facilities and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers,” the statement said.
The RSF urged international organisations to verify information carefully before accepting claims issued by rival political or military actors.
Tensions between Sudan’s warring sides have escalated as competing narratives emerge over attacks on civilian and international sites.
The United Nations has not publicly attributed responsibility for the reported incident.
