RSF rejects US envoy’s accusations, demands transparency

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemned recent allegations by U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan, Tom Perriello, accusing the RSF of committing the majority of sexual violence crimes in Sudan.

The RSF dismissed these claims, made via Perriello’s official social media account, as “hasty and baseless.”

In a statement, the RSF reiterated its call for transparent investigations by neutral international bodies, rejecting any reliance on information from sources aligned with SAF leader General al-Burhan’s coup regime in Port Sudan.

The RSF also criticized Perriello for allegedly ignoring crimes committed by what it termed the “Islamic terrorist movement,” including daily airstrikes and identity-based arrests that it claims amount to genocide against parts of Sudanese society.

The group further accused Perriello of failing to hold the SAF accountable for boycotting negotiations in Geneva and aligning with a regime the RSF described as deceitful.

The RSF argued that Perriello’s approach undermines U.S. efforts to resolve the crisis and accused him of lacking understanding of Sudan’s conflict.
