RSF says Burhan’s army hit Al-Daein hospital

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) accused General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army of launching a drone strike on the emergency department of Al-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur State on Friday.

In a statement, the RSF said the attack caused damage and material losses, with authorities still assessing the extent of the destruction.

The RSF described the incident as part of a broader pattern of attacks on civilians and healthcare facilities, calling it a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which protects medical sites during armed conflict.

The attack reportedly took place on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, intensifying criticism over violence during the Muslim holiday.

The RSF urged the United Nations and human rights organisations to condemn the incident and launch an independent investigation, while Sudan’s ongoing war continues to strain the country’s already fragile healthcare system.
