The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have taken control of Jarjira, a small town about 30 kilometres south of Al-Tina, according to witnesses.
Videos released by the group show RSF entering the town, underlining another shift in Darfur’s fluid and fragile front lines.
Witnesses added that the RSF used electronic defence systems to jam army drones, which had carried out repeated strikes in recent weeks.
Another source, who asked not to be named, said the joint force was hit from two directions and pulled back towards the Chadian border.
RSF is now likely to move next on Al-Tina, one of the last remaining General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army strongholds in the region.
Karnoi, Ambro and the border town of Al-Tina are now among the final positions held by Burhan’s army and its allies.
Most of Darfur is under RSF control, while Jebel Marra and Tawila remain outside their reach, standing as rare pockets of resistance.
