RSF sets up civilian rule in Khartoum

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced the creation of a civilian administration in Khartoum on Friday.

The newly formed “Civilian Founding Council of Khartoum State” elected Nayel Babiker Nayel as chairman and Abdel Latif Al-Amin Al-Hassan as head of administration.

Comprised of 90 members, the council includes representatives from youth groups, women, native leaders, professionals, and Sufi orders.

This initiative mirrors RSF governance structures in areas like Al Jazirah, West Kordofan, and Darfur. Al-Hassan urged professionals to return and resume essential services, calling for peace talks and an end to hostilities.

He accused General al-Burhan’s forces (SAF) of indiscriminate bombings and demanded increased humanitarian aid for RSF-held regions suffering severe shortages. “We stand with the oppressed citizen to ensure security, services, and social peace,” Al-Hassan declared.
