Sudan’s Dagalo briefs Britain on TASIS plan to end war, expand aid

Sudan’s Presidential Council chief Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo spoke with UK Special Representative Richard Crowder on Saturday, discussing bilateral ties, aid to civilians and Sudan’s political process.

Sudan’s Presidential Council chief Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo held a phone call on Saturday with Richard Crowder, the United Kingdom’s special representative for Sudan, in which the two discussed historic ties between the countries, humanitarian aid and civilian protection, his office said.

Dagalo praised Britain’s “significant and ongoing” support for the Sudanese people, including efforts to expand relief operations and bolster safeguards for non-combatants, according to the readout.

He also briefed Crowder on political developments, including the announced Peace and Unity Government—outlining the rationale for its formation, its plan to end the conflict and pursue a comprehensive, just peace, and steps aimed at easing the humanitarian crisis.
