Rwandan forces bound to South Sudan asked to preserve values

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in Charge of Operations, Vincent Sano, urged a contingent of 160 Rwandan police officers to uphold professionalism and Rwandan values during their deployment to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Addressing the officers at the RNP General Headquarters in Kigali, DIGP Sano emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and exemplary conduct in fulfilling their peacekeeping responsibilities.

He stressed the importance of maintaining harmony and respect within the team, with colleagues from other countries, and with the people of South Sudan.

The contingent, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Donatha Nyinawumuntu, will replace the previous Rwandan contingent in Juba, South Sudan.

DIGP Sano advised the officers to prioritize their work, avoid distractions, and maintain a positive image of Rwanda during their mission.

This deployment underscores Rwanda’s continued commitment to contributing to international peacekeeping efforts.
