SAF drone strikes hit El Fasher, killing civilians

Dark plumes of smoke rose over North Darfur after Sudanese Armed Forces drone strikes hit El Fasher and Kabkabiya.

The aerial attacks struck residential areas, reportedly causing civilian casualties and damaging homes and public infrastructure.

Explosions rocked eastern and northern parts of El Fasher on Monday, following similar strikes in the area last week.

In Kabkabiya, bombardments hit the Al-Shati district, damaging public facilities and disrupting local internet services.

A communications blackout has made it difficult for independent observers to verify the full extent of the casualties and damage.

Rapid Support Forces have controlled El Fasher since last October, following an 18-month siege of the city.

Drone warfare has intensified across Sudan since the conflict began in April 2023, with strikes increasingly affecting both military positions and civilian areas.
