Sudan junta administration has extended the opening of the Adré border crossing for three more months, from July 1 to September 30, 2026.
The crossing has been reopened in three-month intervals since August 2023 to keep humanitarian aid flowing to western regions.
The junta government said the decision follows the completion of a UN monitoring mechanism at the border and praised the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for supporting the arrangements.
Officials said the new measures aim to improve transparency and ensure aid reaches people in conflict-affected areas.
Aid agencies and the United Nations continue to rely heavily on the Adré crossing for deliveries into Darfur and Kordofan.
